At GreenLine Driving Academy, our Behind-the-Wheel program is designed to help students become safe, confident, and responsible drivers. Our Virginia DMV-licensed instructors provide personalized instruction, real-world driving experience, and practical defensive driving techniques to prepare students for the challenges of everyday driving.

Our Behind-the-Wheel program meets Virginia DMV requirements and includes:

• 7 sessions of driving instruction, each lasting 50 minutes.
• 7 sessions of in-car observation, each lasting 50 minutes.
• Hands-on training covering vehicle control, intersections, lane changes, parking, defensive driving, and other essential driving skills.
• A final road skills assessment to demonstrate the student's ability to operate a vehicle safely and independently.

Students will complete their training over seven scheduled sessions, with driving and observation time coordinated by the instructor.

To ensure students are prepared to get the most out of their Behind-the-Wheel training, GreenLine Driving Academy recommends that students:

• Hold a valid Virginia learner's permit and have at least six months of driving experience.
• Successfully complete the classroom portion of a state-approved Driver Education program.
• Complete a minimum of 30 hours of supervised driving practice before beginning our Behind-the Wheel program. Students who have not yet reached 30 hours are welcome to enroll in our Private Driving Lessons to gain additional experience and prepare for Behind-the-Wheel training.

These prerequisites help ensure students have developed the foundational skills necessary to progress successfully through our program.

Throughout the course, our instructors evaluate each student's progress using Virginia DMV-approved training standards.

Students must successfully complete all required instruction and demonstrate safe driving skills during their final road skills assessment.

Upon successful completion, GreenLine Driving Academy will issue the appropriate Virginia Driver Training Certificate (DTS-B or DTS-D), documenting completion of the Behind-the-Wheel program.

For eligible students, the DTS-B certificate, when accompanied by a valid learner's permit, may also serve as a temporary driver's license for up to 180 days, subject to Virginia DMV age and licensing requirements.

Whether your student is preparing for their first driver's license or working to become a safer, more confident driver, GreenLine Driving Academy is committed to providing the instruction, encouragement, and experience needed for success.

Students must have at least 30 hours of supervised driving experience before enrolling in GreenLine Driving Academy's Behind-the-Wheel program. However, students who are just getting started or need additional practice can take advantage of our Private Driving Lessons.

Our one-on-one lessons are tailored to each student's experience and skill level, providing personalized instruction to build confidence, improve driving skills, and develop safe driving habits. Whether your student is brand new to driving or simply needs extra guidance before beginning Behind-the-Wheel training, we're here to help!

Private lessons are available individually or in convenient four-session packages, with each lesson lasting 50 minutes.
